Our family loved everything about our stay. From the moment we walked in we were in awe of all the amazing details and care the owners of this property put into making our stay magical. Our children loved it so much they decided they wanted to move here one day.

A vista of mountains, big skies and sea

Watch the ever-changing landscape as a the tide comes in over the shore. If you’re lucky you may be able to see an otter hunting for fish or deer crossing the sands in the early morning and the bay is the best on the island for bird-watching. You can while away hours looking out for fossils on this tiny part of the UK’s Jurassic Coast, and if you’re brave enough, take a dip in the clear waters of the bay. And for a day without the car, opt for a fabulous walk along the coast to the headland nearby where you’re (nearly always) guaranteed to see seals sunbathing on the rocks.

Built in 1857, made for any weather

The view was outstanding for sunsets and we loved that restaurants (good ones) were walkable distance! Location was easily drivable to all the spots we wanted to visit. An absolute gem of a find

Sandra, Canada. May 2026.

About the local area

We have some spectacular sightings of the Northern Lights on Skye. The best months are usually November to March and your chance to see them will depend on the night skies being clear. So no guarantees, but it’s always good to keep your fingers crossed. Even without the Aurora the night skies can be a sight to behold.

Yes, at high tide the water will be just a few metres from your door. Otherwise you can launch at Broadford Pier just down the road.

Yes you can choose to swim from the sandy part of the bay at low tide, or many folk head to the old Pier nearby. We recommend a wet suit unless you are used to cold-water swimming!

Yes, we leave some recommendations for local walks for you. If you’d like to walk out on the shore (which we thoroughly recommend), then you might want to bring some wellies.

Keep your eyes peeled and you may well see an otter cross the bay, a curious seal or a deer traversing the sands at dawn.
